We’re grateful that you’re even considering a trip to Marfa and if you are reading this, you have already contributed in one way or another to who we are and what we do. By this we mean to say that you shouldn’t feel pressured to get us a gift. There is the cheesy line, “Your presence is your present,” but it really is your friendship that we cherish. We also already have plenty of plates and kitchen appliances.
That being said, if you feel compelled to give us a gift, we’re working with our neighborhood development non-profit Ohio City Incorporated to set up a restricted fund that will support projects we are working on in our neighborhood. Marika has been researching street art projects around the world, and we are planning to use any wedding funds that we receive to help create a well-curated street art series on several building facades in Hingetown, with a plaque thanking our wedding guests for their contributions. You can find a couple examples of inspirations here and here. Please note that because we’re working with Ohio City Inc., your donation will be tax deductible.
Any donation amount you give will be masked, so no matter what you give it will be hidden from us. We really don’t want to make anyone feel compelled to give more than what you already have: your friendship.
